Any members of the ATC (RAFAC) under the age of 18 and not holding an NCO rank are referred to as Cadet, abbreviated to Cdt. Cadets do not wear rank slides unless they are over 18 and have applied for an extension of service that has been approved; then they will be provided with plain rank slides bearing "STAFF CADET" on the bottom.
