Cadet Flight Sergeant (Cdt FS), or simply as Flight Sergeant (FS), is the rank directly above Cadet Sergeant, and directly below Cadet Warrant Officer and is usually selected by the sector commander based on merit, usually with the agreement of their Wing Staff Officer, and usually only once a cadet has passed their Senior Cadet examination. In some cases the decision process is instigated by an application from the cadet. It is the second highest non-commissioned officer (SNCO) rank, and will usually bring with it substantially more responsibility around the squadron.
