The table below illustrates the rank structure followed by Cadet.
As of around 2010, the Instructor Cadet label was replaced with Staff Cadet, and a yellow lanyard is now worn for cadets who have achieved Master classification and gone on to complete a Methods of Instruction course. Typically, there will only be Staff Cadets of rank Sergeant, Flight Sergeant or Cadet Warrant Officer, however, cadet's who show use/potential who may have joined late may apply for extension of service so would have a rank slide with "STAFF CADET" written on the bottom.
